Color Palettes: Historic Silkscreen Posters, "East Side, West Side"

"East Side, West Side—Exhibition of Photographs" Poster. Library of Congress Control No. 98501280
Artist: Anthony Velonis. Sponsor: NYC WPA Federal Art Project. Created 1938.

Today, creatives have unlimited colors in their palettes but earlier artists had to learn to work with less resources and create something unique for the viewer. Today is another installment in my color studies of poster art from the Federal Art Project during the Depression and seeing how artists played with color using minimal palettes.

Enjoy!
