Color Palette: Van Gogh's "The Bedroom"

 

 

In 1889, Vincent van Gogh painted "The Bedroom;" it was his 2nd version. I studied the painting's color and built this palette. Van Gogh is celebrated for his charged color palettes where he pairs complementary hues. In his painting, "The Bedroom" he creates visual vibration by setting the red in the blanket against the greens in the floor and the window frames; along with another duo—the purplish blues of the walls with the golden tones of the bedroom furniture and picture frames.
