North Seattle Community College Mural Competition

A colorful sun with a chalkboard black background for viewer participation is my entry for the mural competition at North Seattle Community College. My goal was to create a mural that would be colorful and cheerful (contrasting Seattle’s grayness as well as the campus’ cement buildings); and to be inspirational by highlighting famous quotes and asking the viewer two questions: "What is your dream?" and "How can we make our world better?"

The black paint is chalkboard paint so students and faculty could write their response on the wall.

They received entries from all over the world. It’ll be fun to see the design that won. Here’s a link to the art site that posts art competitions: www.callforentry.org
