Radishes have such great colors. I drew this drawing on vellum with pencil and markers. It was created for my color blog.

Sketch to Logo

The model for the Happy Tree Press logo (below) is a beautiful Japanese maple tree in my backyard. In the spring it turns a bright green and in the fall it turns a beautiful red. I like to sketch and paint it too. 

Quince Branch Drawing

Design Sponge and Jill Bliss inspired me to draw a picture from nature this week. Yesterday, it was cold and rainy in Seattle so I was a wimp and snipped off a little branch to bring inside to draw. It was great to get lost in a drawing for 

a couple hours. I was inspired by Jill's dots in her daffodil drawing. Her work is so beautiful.
